Welcome to Cool Flying!
Cool Flying is a fun filled educational program for children from
Preparatory School age through to Year 7. It is a series of workshops
which reference and demonstrate physical laws and science topics by
dramatic illustration and activity.
Fascinating toys, devices and posters are used to demonstrate forces
of energy, motion and change. There is plenty of colour, action, noise
and intrigue and the depth of explanation is kept relative to the
age group being addressed.
We look at famous people from the world of science and consider
their misconceptions and achievements. People like Leonardo
da Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton, the Wright brothers and others.
Focus is upon the fascinating world of flight and how flying machines
were developed. We consider the forces and energy associated with
flight and how similar forces and energy have applications in everyday
life.
Throughout the series of workshops we experiment with aerodynamics,
fluids, gyroscopic forces, solar energy, electricity and
magnetism.
